The annual fan convention of Comic-Con International San Diego is one of many held throughout the world. This year’s Comic-Con International started on Thursday, July 12, 2012 and will end on Sunday, July 15, 2012 at the Convention Center in San Diego. It was founded in 1970 as the “Golden State Comic Book Convention” later it was known as the “San Diego Comic Book Convention”. Today it is commonly known as Comic-Con. This year’s production was so popular, all tickets were sold out in 90 minutes online when they were made available in late March 2012. This year’s attendance is expected around 130,000.
The show is about people expressing themselves and freely interacting with others. It can be best described as an annual gathering of pop culture creators. It highlights panels, seminars and workshops with comic book professionals. It also highlights upcoming feature films including “The Hobbit” and “The Twilight Saga”. All major TV studios highlight their lineup. Video games such as “Halo 4” and “Assassin’s Creed III” are also expected to be highlighted at the show. It is a place where we see people dressed as anime characters, villains, heroes, Star Wars and Star Trek characters, and many others under one large roof.
