If there was anything that Liv Tyler experienced on the set of Super, which would open shortly, it was pure frustration due to the fact that she had to play the damsel in distress, which is very different from her solution-oriented nature.
The movie which stars Rainn Wilson who plays a superhero character named Crimson Bolt has to save Sarah (Tyler) from the hands of a local drug dealer played by Kevin Bacon. In playing her character, she did manage to relate to it in ways that resembled her personal life, since her five-year marriage with Royston Langdon ended in 2008.
Since the role she played required her to be in a drugged state, it did evoke feelings of vulnerability because she was unfamiliar with a role that requires her to be ‘out of it for most of the time’.
But Liv is no stranger to the disease of addiction as she recalls being around people who have struggled with it from time to time, one of them being her father who was in rehab recently for addiction to painkillers.
This movie comes after a self-imposed break that she took as she dealt with the fallout of her marriage and got to spend time with her son, Milo. While she is currently toying with the idea of starting a singing career shortly, another movie of hers known as “The Ledge” will be released this year.
